Commitment and  Membership cont...
3.  GIVING:   We believe that the giving of tithes and offerings is God's plan to prosper both His people and His work.  Our church operates on the principles of seed-faith-sowing and reaping.  God never really has your heart until he has your wallet (Matthew 6:21).  Your financial commitment advances the kingdom of God locally and provides monthly support to a great number of missionaries in foreign fields and gives regular support to other ministries and special mission projects.  As you give, see your money bringing light to the entire world.

4.  MEMBERSHIP:  The New Testament Scriptures reveal the fact that God considers commitment to a local expression of the body of Christ as paramount.  It isn't enough to be part of the Universal Church, but in order for the Church to function as a unified body, there must exist the bonds of love and friendship that foster Christian growth.  These Christ-centered "family" relationships are the very substance of which the Church consists.  We believe that for a believer to grow in Christ, he must submit himself to the church leadership and follow the pastor's vision (Eph. 4:11-12; Heb. 13:17; Rom.13:1-2; Acts 2:42-47).  Every earthly family needs leadership and the Christian family is no different.  Because of the need for all of us to be of one heart and mind Dundalk Assembly has established standards for church membership.

People come here from various church backgrounds.  This makes it necessary for all who become members to go through our membership series in order to know what we believe and why we believe it, using God's Word as our final authority.  These membership classes are enlightening and edifying, as well as unifying.   Only after attending these classes can one honestly know if they are in the same spirit and agreement with this body and vision.

Even if people come from other churches, it is still necessary to attend. Membership is a prerequisite for church leadership.  Membership and commitment go hand in hand.

5.  SERVICE:  You are needed at Dundalk Assembly.  God has a special place for you that will utilize your gifts, talents, and personality.  We desire everyone to be faithful in using their God-given gift and talents to lift up Jesus Christ and to edify the Body.  We need each other.

6.  WITNESS:  The mark of a true disciple is the sharing of your faith.  The Church of Jesus Christ will grow only as believers fulfill the Great Commission to "go into all the world".  Ask God for your neighborhood and be faithful to take advantage of every opportunity to share the Good News.  A witnessing church is a growing church.
